I received an e-mail asking if I had a list of all the acts that appeared at WKLO's annual "Toys for Tots" concerts. With the help of Leonard Yates, I put one together on the Toys for Tots page: 1080wklo.com/toysfortots.htmIt has a few holes in it though. If you can help fill it in, drop me a line: john@1080WKLO.com. Thanks!

I attended some of these shows. They all run together in my head these days. Crowded as hell. I remember seeing The Buckinghams, Sam the Sham, John Fred, Ian Whitcomb and others. The local acts were always the backbone. Bill Carlisle and The Carlisle Family were getting airplay with the novelty tune "What Kind Of Deal Is This". They were on one of the shows, and being a country act, that's what they performed. They were booed off the stage. I was embarrassed this occurred.
