Check out this CD offered on eBay! cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250244396656&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123...and the description as follows: They began their career as the Four Frantics performing regularly with Paul Penny & The Carnations. Their 1st release Don't You Hear Me Calling Baby went to #2 on WKLO Radio. The flip side I'm So Young featured Paul Penny as lead vocalist. During the '50s & '60s they had 7 songs on the local charts. In '62 they released their biggest hit Nite Owl. In '66 they recorded and worked with the then unknown studio musician Charlie Daniels (It's So Right)! The band was together from '62 - ;72. After they broke up, various group members would from time to time join with local groups to play around their hometown of Louisville, KY until '83. Hear these great and rare harmonies now...it's a real treat!

What's that model of KLO suppose to be? That's not the transmitter building or anything that I recognize.

I don't think it's supposed to be "our" WKLO. If you look closely at the photo here... foslimited.blogspot.com/2007/05/radio-wklo.htmlYou'll see the frequency on the billboard is 1290. Who know why the builder picked those call letters? He writes: "... the letters can be rearranged to read KWLO for all those modeling West of the Mississippi and a second version of the color billboard is also included."

I've seen a similar pic. The building wasn't as tall, and the tower was to the side. It also had a different call. I'd guess the original gets doctored as it passes from hand to hand.

Speaking of eBay goodies, I noticed Jeff Gabbard has shared some survey sheets with our site. I just wanted to say that I've gotten many, many WKLO and WAKY surveys from Jeff via eBay. If you are in the market for some surveys to have for your own, I highly recommend looking for Jeff on eBay...he's got 'em-and for a good price!

Regarding the pic, I seem to recall the pic I saw had something to do with border radio. On the X, baby.
