Bob Cline has been found! I've been in contact with him recently and he's promised to send airchecks. Where is he today? Check out the 1080WKLO.com DJs page. Thanks to Ed Phillips for passing along Bob's e-mail address.

The lady who was the chief copywriter for WIEL in the 70's tells me Bob went by the name J.R. Kennedy at WKLO. Anyone know anything about that?

Bob Cline was Bob Cline (drinkin' wine) on WKLO and became J.R. Kennedy when WKLO became WCII (AM country). In addition to being a great jock, Bob can also do a great impersonation of the late Wolfman Jack. Or at least, he could.
A friend of mine, Lonnie Greisbaum, played music with Bob just a couple of years back and said that Bob was not only a good guitarist, but also a good singer as well. Bob Cline is just a man of many talents.
RoCk oN, BoB!!

Trivial as it may seem, another radio associate down here said he thought Bob spelt his last name with a 'K', to which I said everyone knows him as Cline and not Kline. I was surprised he even made that comment, particularly as he was in radio in the early 70's and it is common to change the spelling of your name or the name altogether. Did he perhaps originally spell it with a 'K' and switched to 'C' when he got into radio for simplicity?
