Well all you guys are right about WDJX 99.7 being WKLO. WKLO-FM started in 1963...I know, because Bruce Clark and I installed the new RCA FM transmitter in 1963. The same transmitter later was moved to WINN 106.1 in North Vernon Indiana when I ripped off the Louisville Call letters and changed to 50000 watts. After selling WINN and the real WKRP 1460 ( no kidding). I built 94.7 in Louisville (now owned by Salem Communications) using the same transmitter and it is still there as the standby. Also, Jill walked up to me at a local restaurant a few weeks ago....she started at WKLO as the receptionist answering phones at the front desk. / Pete Boyce

My bad, I thought Jill worked at WKLO, I guess my memory is starting to become shot. I was shocked when a local TV station did a story in the 80's on Jill Lawrance and Duke being married, I had no clue. Jill has the best female voice on radio, and my speakers melt, when she does traffic reports.

you are right...jill was on the air on WKLO...fill ins nights, weekends...she was not full time until after WKLO became WKJJ (the new KJ100) and managed to stay thru the transistion to 99.7 WDJX. I was the program director that put her on the air.

Call me sexist, but for some reason female jocks just have never done anything for me (nothing meant by that). But hey, wasn't Eileen Douglas a looker?? I know, I'm being sexist again . Looking back I regret having made this remark, especially after reading the post on LKYRadio regarding her husband, Ken Douglas.
