I started this thread on the WAKY site last month or so and since not EVERYBODY who scans this site scans 790's, I'll post this here, as well:
I wonder how many of the WAKY/WKLO alum's/listeners would be interested in a t-shirt(s) of these two great icons? I would be willing to do some research if I can find enough interest. I'm not sure if there is a minimum requirement or not, but this as well as design options can be researched on my end. For starters, I think the logos for these two sites would make for a good start. I could also research any past logos for the stations.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
***as of this writing I have a couple of people (3 including John Quincy!) who have shown interest. Just lemme know if there's anyone else!

Yo, Max!
I've been meaning to tell you that I'd be interested in the shirts. I would actually like one that shows both the WAKY and WKLO logos on the same shirt. It would represent the only two stations that most of us ever listened to while growing up.
The only catch would be which station would have its logo on top, or to the left or even on the front (as opposed to being on the back) of the shirt. In some respect, you could say that the rivalry between these two legendary stations continues to this very day.
I'm currently preparing another financial contribution to help cover the bandwidth, and other costs, of maintaining these sites. While they are truly a labor of love for all the hours that John Quincy puts into them, he should not have to bare the costs alone. Many, such as myself, who make a daily visit to these sites have a responsibility. The IRS hit me rather hard last month, but I'm recovering. If you decide to make a go of the shirts, just let me know.

Travis, that's an EXCELLENT idea! Instead of two separate shirts, make a dual shirt-something like "the war wages on", or "the rivalry continues", or "the rivalry that lives on", or something like that.
Thanks, man! I have been inspired! :-)
I'm on my 2 week Reserve hitch. When I'm done I'll get to work on some ideas!!

I like the idea of the WKLO/WAKY T-Shirts(WKLO must always be on top, since it was the greatest ). Hopefully Max, when/if you settle on a design, you'll post a pic of your idea.

The side by side idea would probably be the best, so no one would be offended. But to be honest, WAKY would probably be on the left (not that it should really make a difference) since I listened more to it growing up and since it was the first site started. It would probably be something on the order of WAKY vs. WKLO, or maybe something similar in nature. To make one both ways would be too expensive, especially if there is a low interest. But without the names in front of me I would guess I have about 6 or 8 respondents so far, so that's a good enough start for me!

WAKY should be on the left as it was at 790 on the dial and WKLO on the right as it was at 1080 on the dial. Makes sense to me.

Good point, Chad! And I like your slogan...Keeping Louisville Music Alive with my 45's. We may not be hearing the same music all the time we heard years ago, but my hunch is we ALL have an ample collection of 45's/LP's!!

I thought for sure there was a separate link for the second wave of WKLO shirts JQ has going with Cafepress, so I'll just make my post here. I'm wearing my WKLO shirt now and it looks great (even better than my WAKY one). Although they're not as good quality as the Gildan's offered originally, the logo is bigger and looks swell against white. I personally have the one with the blue edges on the sleeves. They're worth checking out! Check out the link on this homepage. -and I gotta throw in there's still a few of the original ones left, in case anyone's interested.

I just realized I still have a boxful of these leftover from a couple of years ago. They are all XL's and there are still several in both red and haze yellow. As the ad says they are $12.00 each, including shipping and 2/$20.00-they'd make a great Christmas gift and keepsake, especially for friends and family members who went back and forth between these two powerhouses like most of us did!
